Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I’m a teacher in a low-income/high-poverty school district. My students come from diverse backgrounds and are faced with several challenges in their young lives. I am looking forward to creating a loving classroom community that will provide a safe and meaningful learning experience.

Organization and comfort are very important in order to create a nurturing environment.

In our current school community, there is not much comfort or organization on the streets. My students need a place where they can feel comfortable so they can be ready to learn. They also need a place where all school items are organized and clear to see. Like my students like to say, “Out of sight, out of mind.” This is why this school year I want to provide the coziest, best-organized classroom I can to help my students feel at ease and ready to learn.

My Project

Learning a new language is hard, it's even harder when you have to see everything in black and white. This is why we need a color printer in our classroom. We don't have curriculum materials in our classroom and therefore as a teacher I have to print out a lot of information and worksheets from online sources.

Since the students are learning a new language I would like to differentiate their work in their home language and English by using different colors.

Also, I also of our learning consist of many pictures, and a colorful picture will help us describe and learn so much more.
