My Students

My first graders are eager to learn! Almost every topic interests them. They live in a low socio-economic area and may not have some of the luxuries other school have. They are optimistic, hardworking, and deserve a great education. They are all so proud to know that they're moving up in any subject. Whenever they know they are progressing, it only makes them work harder so they can continue to do better. Some students don't have family support at home so I try to work even harder to reach those students so when they leave my class, they leave understanding what I taught throughout the day.

My Project

My students work in centers often. They work with a small group of students and focus on one activity. We've completed many activities so far during the school year and I can tell these kids are yearning for new ones.

The Lakeshore Sight Word Smart Pencil Interactive Learning Cards and Smart Pencils will definitely help students who are still struggling with reading.

I have students who still aren't reading at first grade level. This activity will be a very fun way for them to progress in their letter sounds.

The Math Match-Ups activity will help students play and learn at the same time. Most of them love math so this will be a great way for them to sharpen their math skills.
