Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Thank you for your interest in our English Language Arts, Special Education, and Advisory project. Students often use handouts in their day and they are printed in black and white. What decade are we living in?! Our students live lives filled with colorful games and videos! Many of our classroom projects are based on what we have (like paper and Google Docs), instead of what we'd truly like for our students and what would best engage them. Help us make a more vibrant classroom learning experience for all.

Color materials are needed to quickly differentiate and modify handouts, note catchers, and create visuals for reading and writing.

Currently, we print all of our color copies at home. Having a printer that uses ink efficiently in the classroom would be a fast and inexpensive long-term solution for these modifications and more engaging handouts. The requested art materials are for both the expression of ideas in ELA and for our advisory social-emotional learning and community-building work. The requested fiction books are to help us build a community of lifelong readers through book groups and partnerships and teacher-guided reading skills work in small groups.

This project will give students access to learning and engagement through greater differentiation using color-printed, hands-on materials and more diverse literature. Our students deserve a school experience where learning is colorful and vibrant. Help us make this a reality for our students with your donation. We know it will not only be deeply appreciated by this year's students, but many classes of sixth graders to come.
