Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach a group of 27 wonderful 4th grade students. Our class is a mix of general education and special education students. This is such a respectful group of students that love to collaborate in class discussions based.

Our class is dedicated to creating an atmosphere of inclusion based on shared experiences.

They benefit from multi-sensory approaches to their academic materials.

Coming from a variety of backgrounds, as a class we have established a welcoming, including classroom where we learn from each other and experiences and cultures are celebrated.

My Project

This color printer will allow me to support one of my students' widespread learning needs, a multi-sensory approach to learning. My 4th grade students love to engage in class discussions based on our academic materials. Materials printed in color allow students to observe details not seen in black and white school materials.

Students with special needs deserve the same access to curriculum materials, and this color printer will ensure that I can provide equitable learning opportunities for all of my students.

As a Title I, NYC public school, I can use this printer to provide my students with copies of books in color to take and keep at home, promoting their continued literacy development.
