My Students

In today's academic environment, there is nothing like incorporating technology in the classroom because it is an intrical part of the future. I love to explore creative ways to teach and I think by incorporating technology, I would foster a love of learning in a unique and interactive way for my students with special needs.

My students have a limitless amount of motivation, love to be challenged, and CRAVE knowledge.

My students enjoy learning, and they are really into technology. I desire to integrate their interests into my daily teaching. I plan to create centers in my lessons so students get a chance to access online resources for our curriculum and research to add to their informational reports. My students enjoy school, but they have recently expressed concerns about trying new things and having some fun in school. I want my students to be motivated and interested in their studies.

My Project

When students are interested and engaged in their learning, they soar academically. It is my goal to set up daily center activities when I create lessons. This way my students with special needs will be motivated and engaged in their learning. Being able to use a chromebook and research a topic, or look up a fact, will help my students learn in an self-motivating way. Students will use online curriculum-based programs while working with partners during our math lessons. My students will also be able to research topics and gather more information for their informational writing lessons. They can access reading comprehension websites online that are interactive and engaging. How cool is that?

These Chromebooks will not only prove to be fun and engaging to students, but will set up a strong computer based foundation for future learning.

After years of teaching, the digital divide I see in education is striking. My students simply do not have access to the technology they should. Students that explore, use, and understand how to use computers will have a more successful future.
