My Students

We are an arts school in the heart of Saint Paul. We work hard to embed art into the content areas so that our students are learning in and through the arts. As we have students in our school who come from multiple cultures and backgrounds, teaching through the arts is crucial to their learning.

Our students are a diverse group of learners who come from a variety of cultures around the world.

While we have students who were born in the United States, we also have students who are new to the country. All of the students in the school will benefit from this project through art class and content collaboration between our art teacher and classroom teachers. The art supplies will allow our students to express themselves and their cultures through a variety of media as they learn content standards in the core subjects.

My Project

All of our students would like to see themselves in their art work as they learn content areas in and through the arts. Our students would like to have a variety of art materials such as multicultural crayons and colored pencils, acrylic paint, and water color paper so that they can express themselves.

By donating, you will help our students express themselves and their varying cultures so that they can discuss and learn different perspectives.

By expressing themselves, they are able to share their varying cultures and lives, build relationships with classmates, and also learn about the varying perspectives of the world around them. Our school supports learners who were born in the United States, students who are new to the country, and all students in between. Some students are not able to express themselves through speech when they first come into our classrooms. It is through art that they are able to tell us a story so that we can learn from them, and in return, they can learn from us.
