This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our school is made up of over 75% of English Language Learners and offers many special education classes such as special day classes, PALS, and autism classes. Our school has Extended Transitional Kindergarten, Transitional Kindergarten, Kindergarten, and First through Fifth grade.

Despite the loss of not experiencing their first day of school, in our wonderful campus because of COVID-19 shutting down all face-to-face schooling, our little ones bring those smiling faces via Zoom and are ready to take on the world!

They have already faced learning how to use their devices to practice remote learning everyday. They have learned to mute and unmute themselves, have small group discussions, display their work to their peers virtually, and annotate on the screen. These little ones have learned so much in such a short period of time.

My Project

We knew that we would start our school year remotely and even then the same question was asked by many. How are you going to teach Kindergarten students proper pencil holding skills and penmanship from a computer screen? We knew we wanted for them to still be able to practice their skills even on an IPAD, so we knew there were two things we would need...... A stylus and a pencil grip.

Even while using our online platforms our Kindergarten students will be completing assignments, like worksheets but in a digital form.

That means that they will need a simple but effective accessory to accomplish such tasks. With a stylus our Kinder students will be able to practice writing and completing their digital assignments, while learning proper penmanship. The pencil grip will be a wonderful accessory that they will be able to use when writing. The pencil grip will also be helping them in learning how to hold a pencil in the correct and proper form.
