I teach at Sam Houston Elementary which is a Title I school. We are a school that practices AVID strategies daily and believe that all scholars should be career or college ready when they leave school, we also believe that those preparations start since kindergarten!
My class is full of scholars that come to school everyday and eager to learn, leaving all of their home issues at home and stepping into their favorite place, their classroom.
We have established an amazing place to learn, we celebrate our differences and always find a way to work together as a family. The only thing our class is missing is some extra resources to enhance our learning!
My Project
Flexible seating allows students to take charge of their learning and make the choices that work best for them. I have noticed amazing differences in my students when they are given a choice in their seating. They almost always make good choices about where they sit, are more engaged, and get more work completed than when they are just sitting at their desk.
My students are noticeably more engaged when they have a choice in where they learn or rather how they learn, these items will help me give a more differentiated instruction.
The products that I have selected will help my students by giving them additional seating options to make more effective learning choices. These will be extremely beneficial for some students that just need to get the wiggles out. They can also be used as an alternative chair if needed! I have also chosen products that will help my not so easily motivated students engaged in our lesson and excited to learn!
