Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Our school is located in the city with not much green space. There is very little grass and most of our school and their play area is asphalt. I would like my students to have a hands-on learning experience beginning with what it feels like to have their hands in dirt!
My students will use these materials to learn how fruit and vegetables are grown.
They will learn to use the materials to not only plant the seeds, but water them, and take care of them for fruits and vegetables to grow!
My goal for this project is a hands on learning experience where the students will engage with nature. They will get their hands dirty to make plants grow and observe and care for seedlings until they are able to bear fruit. Due to the location of our school, this is a rare experience for these students.
