My Project

I teach some awesome third graders! When December comes, the students get so excited about our school traditions and their holiday traditions at home. I love to expand on this and teach my students about other traditions around the world.

Each week during the month of December we learn about two different countries and their holiday traditions.

We have a "suitcase" and "fly" to a different country. We read traditional books, eat traditional snacks, and create a craft that represents the country we're learning about.

This is my favorite unit in third grade. It gives my students a chance to see how other children celebrate a holiday. It also helps the students see that there can be several different ways to celebrate a holiday and it is awesome! All of the supplies in this project will help create a better learning opportunity for my students.
