My Students

My students are in a fourth grade general education classroom. We are a diverse class with different learning abilities and needs. What I love most about my students is their eagerness to learn. My students are determined to meet their goals, overcome any academic misconceptions, and motivated to challenges themselves.

My Project

I am a fourth grade math teacher. I teach students who are blended learners. Everyday, I position a laptop to face the SmartBoard. On the laptop, I am logged onto a Google Meet with my students who are learning from home so that they can engage in the live lesson with their peers who are learning in-person. This benefits all of my students because they have the same expectations and routines daily while learning from the same teacher, whether they are learning at home or in the school building.

With an iPad, I could quickly create, model, solve and explain math equations and word problems with the glide of a finger during live streamed and pre-recorded lessons rather than using a trackpad.

When I was teaching remotely last school year, it was difficult to model math skills by using a trackpad on my laptop. With an iPad, I would be able to model math skills during my live streamed lessons from home if my school closes due to COVID cases in the building or if all schools close.
