Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Most of my students are ESOL students. They are such hard workers. As this pandemic has progressed, my group of students has not let that stop them. I have been able to learn so much from all of my students. They are sweet, kind, passionate, and ready to continue learning every day. In our classroom, we have built love and kindness, which has helped us grow as a family. In this classroom, students help and push each other to be their best even with the given circumstances.

My Project

These materials and supplies will allow me to provide a better and stronger foundation reading skills to all my students(k-5). Currently, we have limited dry erase boards where the students are practicing some of the foundational skills needed to become better readers. Learning how to decode sounds, learning the different letters and letter combinations as well as building words should be more interactive than paper and pencil. Having my students use their boards and magnetic letters will allow them to have some more hands on practice for a stronger letter/word recognition. This year we have about 60 students in the over all intervention program and all in different classrooms. Through the use of the cart, I will be able to make all of these materials available to all my students in all the classrooms. Please help me make this learning experience a great one for these students who have been struggling since the beginning of the Pandemic.
