My Project

The students in my classes come from all over the world. They bring different languages, customs, and cultures into one shared space where we all learn and grow each day.

Sea Prayer by Khaled Hosseini is a fictional a short graphic letter from a father to his son as they flee Syria - being able to study the story in English and reference a professionally translated copy will greatly help my students' English language acquisition.

These books will not only help students with their English language skills, but also with inferencing, determining the meaning of figurative language, and developing empathy by learning to put themselves in someone else's shoes.

I hope to use these short stories with classes for years to come. Thank you for your generosity and your support of these amazing students!
