Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My high school students are new to the country and are excited to learn English. They come from Rwanda, Mexico, El Salvador, Honduras, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Colombia, and Cuba. Picking up a book in English can be intimidating for them, so I want to stock my classroom library with books from their favorite genres.

The more words my students read in English, the more vocabulary they will learn, so it is important for my classroom to have books that are exciting for them.

For this reason, I have chosen books that focus on mystery, romance, "horror," and soccer, my students' favorites.
