My Project

My high school is full of amazing teenagers striving to grow both academically and social/ emotionally. Many of my students are struggling with overcoming feelings of anxiety as they work to learn ways to cope and overcome the hurdles that they are facing.

Books about conquering anxiety, mindfulness journals, mindfulness coloring books, and workbooks will help make small-group and individual counseling sessions for high school students fun and engaging.

Students will learn to identify sources of stress and worry, understand the physical impact of excessive worry, and learn coping techniques to reduce worry. Students will also be encouraged to use these techniques at home and in school and to report back their success stories. I hope the techniques and strategies learned will become life-long skills for these students.
