This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

After the pandemic of Covid-19, kids are different. They learn differently, interact differently, and have a different mindset. As an effective teacher, I must be able to adapt to their needs. I have found that kids learn more effectively when they are comfortable and less anxious. Some kids do well sitting at desks, while others need a different option. My students love to sit on the floor while I'm teaching and they are working, but the floor is hard and uncomfortable. The surf portable lap desks would provide my students with the opportunity to move from just a chair and desk, to a comfortable seat on the floor. It can be used for notetaking, with their laptops, during reading, writing, math, projects...then sky's the limit.

Students can also quickly and easily pair up, and work in small groups.

The best part is they are lightweight and easy to carry so on nice days we could use them outside and get some fresh air while we learn. Choice of seating encourages collaboration, communication, creativity, and critical thinking. Having the rack to store them would be amazing as well since space is limited already.
