Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Having these books will help give my students with a hearing loss a chance to develop their auditory skills in sound association. My students will develop their vocabulary and be able to make a connection to words with the visuals in the book. By having nursery rhymes in Spanish my students will be able to learn how to play with their voice and learn songs in their native tongue. Including the child's primary language in lessons is always a positive and will help to build a connection between the child and their culture. My goal is for my students to develop their auditory skills by developing their sound association, develop their receptive and expressive language in either English, Spanish, or ASL, and learn how to develop duration intensity and pitch with their voice through nursery rhymes. My students are special because they are excited and able to learn language through different languages and are excited to learn.
