Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are energetic and eager to learn. My students are on an accelerated academic program which means they learn more in one year than most students learn in half the time. At the same time, they are often unable to afford basic school supplies to facilitate their learning. Making sure that my students always have the materials they need to participate in class makes the time they have in class more productive. My students are more engaged when they have supplies to work with.

My Project

Visualizing microscopic and complex concepts is a challenge, especially for a 7th grader. Posters will be hung around the classroom to help make the abstract concepts of chemistry more concrete. The posters will be referenced throughout the chemistry unit. Picture books will help students visualize chemistry concepts. These books will be used during stations teaching.

Chemistry games will help students comprehend the complex concepts of chemistry.

School should be fun. Students are more likely to continue learning if they see value in it and see the joy in learning. The games will be used during station teaching the help students build upon the chemistry concepts taught previously in class.
