Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

A Little Spot Series Books are engaging and instructional. Students learn how to deal with their emotions as Spot navigates through different life situations. These engaging and colorful books also teach character skills to aid in the character development of students.

I currently display A Little Spot books to my students in YouTube.

We listen to the stories and we have discussions about how Spot dealt with different emotions or discuss the character skill featured in a given book. My students already know about Spot and they would be delighted to see these book titles in our classroom library. If I get these books donated to my class, I would be able to read aloud the books to my students myself. Having the physical books will aid my instruction. I will not have to rely on technology, the internet or have to watch commercials as we listen to Spot Books.

Social emotional learning is of key importance for children. In the primary grades students are learning how to deal with their emotions and how to deal with others in school and in their communities. Learning about character skills will improve the well being of my students. It will also improve behavior in my classroom as students learn how to treat others by showing the character skills featured in A Little Spot book series.
