This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students would truly benefit from a clean rug to sit on during instruction.

I teach an enthusiastic group of Kindergarteners.

Since they are only five years old, it's important for them to move locations throughout instruction so they can reach their potential. One way that I help keep their attention is through movement from the rug to their desks and/or groups. This year I want to incorporate community circles into their daily routine, and I would love to have them sit close together on the rug. Also, I would love to provide my kindergarteners with engaging centers during the day. This will help build community and socialization during this important time in their learning.

My Project

My students need to find a way to join in on play that’s already established at one center. In addition to the social aspect of centers, children are learning a lot about themselves at this time. They’re practicing and exploring many important concepts in a safe environment. Here are some: time management, self-regulation, and their own interest. Early childhood centers also will help my students when it comes to early learning skills. As with the social and self-development concepts listed above, there are so many ways centers help with early academics: develop language, make mistakes, and practice skills. The storage bins will be used to save store all the centers in a well-organized manner.
