My group of second graders have made so much growth in reading and math this year and I want them to continue to make that growth while also having fun in the classroom. Something I want to implement more in my classroom is center work. My students love center time but are starting to become bored with doing the same things every day. So, I have decided to redo our reading centers and also bring in math centers to our classroom.
It is a well-known that students learn best in small groups.
The hardest part about pulling small groups in a classroom is keeping the students not in the group busy with meaningful and fun classwork. By getting these materials I will be able to have different center activities monthly. The laminating sheets will help keep the resources gotten from Teachers Pay Teachers strong to continue to use them for many years. The headphones provide students the opportunity to listen to books on tape and do additional reading and math work on the computers without distracting other students around them. The dry erase pockets allow students to use the same paper again and again. These resources will benefit not only my current students but my future students as well.
