My students from Northern Colorado attend an incredible school with outstanding values. Our school assists students in doing their Personal Best, Achieve their highest goals, Make Wise Choices, and contribute to our communities Safety. Each student here has values as high as the sky. No matter what we do as a school we still find ourselves in the same situation: many of our students come from lives where their needs outweigh their wants.
Despite these challenges, this is the school where each student will give you their heart.
So many of these students have offered to bring in extra supplies. So many of these students have offered the time to volunteer in the classroom. So many of these students have collected together to build a better community in the classroom and in the building.
Your contribution would bring about a sense of empowerment that our students need to feel from other members of our society.
My Project
In my classroom, I have access to one yoga ball and one standing desk. As a first year teacher I find myself needing more of these materials. The yoga ball is used for one student to keep him from falling asleep during the mornings. However, I have two more students who would benefit from this yoga ball. One who constantly leans back, causing him to fall and jar his body against the hard floor. One who is constantly unable to focus, constantly watching into the world of her desk.
These students are just two examples of the 75 students this project would touch.
