My Students

The majority of my students come from low-income communities and have little or no resources. Our district which has 54 schools has launched a technology-based platform for distance learning. Sadly, in my class only 3/17 have a laptop, 1/17 has a smartphone that she is trying to use, and the rest are relying on paper packets that the district has provided.

In a perfect world, all of my students would have available technology to complete the assignments and interact with me from home.

But we know this is not a perfect world.

My Project

I can just imagine my students' faces lighting up when they receive these supplies. Of course, we have all of this at school but I am positive it is a completely different story in many homes.

Their very own box of 64-count Crayola Crayons?

Mechanical Pencils! Markers! Colored Pencils! Rulers! FlashCards! Construction Paper! I can hear their shouts of joy! "Mom look, now I can do my work and really make Mrs. Keller proud!"

I miss them all so much and just want them to know how much I care.
