Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My kindergarten bilingual students, 4 and 5 years old, are Spanish speakers coming from low-income families in a high need area in New York. All my students are English Language Learners or children with special needs who come every day into my classroom full of energy and eager to learn. They love hands-on activities and technology games during math, science/reading. They also like engaging in projects that are challenging and allow them to think outside the box to find solutions.

As children of the 21st century, they need to be prepared to use a variety of tools to engage in their world as well as mastering the new New York State Standards for their grade.

Unfortunately, my classroom is limited in some of the resources needed to provide each student access to important information, bilingual resources, and more than anything it is limited in technology devices.

I look forward to creating projects, especially in Math and Science, that will contribute to helping my students obtain the knowledge necessary to master the Kindergarten standards while having a joyful learning activity. Your contribution to funding this project will make a big difference in my students' academic and social lives.

My Project

Our children live in a world full of technology and color; but lamentably our school does not have color printers where we can copy or create colorful activities for our early childhood pupils. Therefore, we are in great need of a color printer, ink, and paper to make this dream come true in my kindergarten classroom. This new color printer will benefit all my students. They will be able to enjoy filling up class activities with captivating colors as well as to print in color their work class projects.

This color printer not only will be useful to print class activities for bilingual students, but also classroom labels in both languages (English and Spanish), certificates, pictures, charts, rubrics, and awards to motivate and affirm the learning and success of my awesome students.

Thanks in advance for your contribution!
