This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

We are serious computer scientists in the making! My Mobile Apps students are highly motivated and passionate about technology. In our class, we learn by doing and experimenting with code. Programming can be frustrating, and that is exactly how we also become better programmers-- every "bug" in our program is one more lesson learned. Although we are a brand new tech magnet, we have already had some success-- we placed 3rd in an App competition and have just submitted two entries in additional competitions.

My Project

Who would not want to learn about programming if you got to program a robot?

This professional training will allow me get trained on a curriculum that teaches students about robotics with the Python programming language.

Help me make programming cool, and help train future programmers. I will take home a CodeBot and materials and curriculum to use with my students in 9th and 10th grade. The students that will directly benefit with be minority youth in our Coding and App Development Magnet. A majority of my students have never programmed prior to being in the magnet and I am continually developing their interest in coding and possible careers in tech.
