The students that I work with in my program have been working extremely hard at earning rewards. I have seen them develop executive function skills, along with making large gains in their areas of struggle through this reward program. I have also seen them be mindful and plan out how to earn goals and journal on how these rewards are earned and how it can also be challenging. The materials purchased are to be used in the reward program I have set up to help students engage in initial challenging learning, build insight on how their hard work and engagement can earn them extrinsic rewards, and give them an ability to have a higher level of learning through goal setting and problem solving to earn the rewards which is making them aware of the growth of their understanding of how important it is to have intrinsic motivation to push them to make their academic goals come to fruition.
