Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

As an occupational therapist, I help my students develop essential fine motor, visual-motor, and cognitive skills and facilitate learning through play. Small manipulative toys such as LEGO, building blocks, puzzles and Play-Doh, give my students and opportunity to play (which is one of the basic activities of daily living at their age), while learning important skills. Learning while creating, building and experimenting helps children develop special awareness, visual motor skills, muscle strength and coordination and negotiate the world around them. To create an environment rich with opportunities and challenges I need age appropriate toys and materials. Helping me acquire much needed materials will help my students to continue to grow and learn.
