My Students

Students at our school are some of the most kind, eager, and intriguing children one could ever know.

For instance, after losing her mother to breast cancer last Christmas, one six year old student said, "being at school makes everything feel good for a little while." Thinking more closely about what that statement meant, is to understand the level of resilience exhibited by the young hearts of our students.

Every day students walk through the door ready to learn; but even more, they want to give all that they have to one another despite any obstacles or trauma that life brings! My experiences with them have been nothing short of amazing! I've learned so much by taking time to look at the world through the lens they share with me.

My Project

Many of our students come from adverse backgrounds or have experienced some level of trauma in their young lives. While we can not control extraneous variables, it is our mission to equip our students to be successful in coping with life's challenges, as well as classroom success. With your help, we can do just that!

Items such as social story Jenga or Uno can be a tool used to help students identify emotional and behavioral triggers and work toward a solution.

Chair rubber bands will be used to assist students who struggle maintaining attentiveness by helping to bring self-awareness to their sensory needs.
