This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are always excited to start a new art project! Many of them do not have access to art supplies at home, so my classroom is the only place they have that offers them the opportunity to create art using all different materials. Despite their personal hardships, they come to class excited to see what they will create!

I love when they tell me that they wish they could come to art every day and that they love my projects!

They become very excited when they are given a choice to choose multiple materials, and painting is everyone’s favorite! They are amazing artists with very creative ideas and imaginations!

My Project

I am requesting culturally diverse artist biographies which will be a wonderful addition to my art classroom library. I currently have very few artist books that discuss artists from diverse cultures.

My students come from many different backgrounds, and it’s important for them to see that artists are prevalent in all cultures!

In addition to being part of my art library, I plan on using the books to create several projects that incorporate the same style as the artist. I am hoping these books will inspire all students to believe that they can achieve anything they put their minds to!
