My Students

One of my main goals of this school year is to get my preschoolers at a mastery level when it comes to their letter knowledge and rhyming capability. I want to provide many opportunities for them to be able to practice both of these very important skills.

My students are all second language learners.

Most of my students are only exposed to English in my classroom. Learning the letters of the alphabet and their sounds is a vital piece in their education. Due to their little exposure to the English language, it is very difficult for them to recognize rhyming words. This ability to rhyme really is an important part for emergent learners. It builds a strong foundation for phonemic awareness.

My Project

These resources will give my students different opportunities to practice and master these skills. These resources will be able to let me differentiate my letter knowledge and rhyming lessons to meet the needs of my students no matter what their learning style is. These wonderful games, puzzles, and manipulatives will let my students learn while having fun! I know that they will be excited to reach for these resources during center time in our classroom routine.

This project is so important because it is giving me a variety of tools to help my students learn.

These resources will give me the ability to differentiate my lessons for the different learning needs of my students.
