Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Multi sensory reading instruction plays an important part in my students learning. They are auditory and visual learners. Books on CD and puppets that go along with the story would help my students to improve their reading and comprehension skills.

I teach six wonderful 6-7 years old students with autism.

I work in high needs school. My students have delays in speech and language development. They enjoy listening to the books on CD and retell the stories with puppets. Recently they began to learn how to read.

My Project

The books on CD that I have in my classroom have increased my students desire to learn how to read. I would like to expose them to Dr.Suess books. Dr. Seuss created the awesome books for beginning readers that are both entertaining and have controlled vocabulary. All his books have simple words, much repetition and are ideally suited for beginning readers. The book and puppet sets will give my students opportunity to retell the story that was read to them by using the puppets. That will improve their expressive language skills.

Your donation will allow my students to gain functional reading skills as well as expressive language that they will use throughout their lifetime.

This will be the first step to accomplish their individual goals. Thank you very much for your support!
