Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

We spend our days building on the things we learned the day before. We increase our knowledge through repetition, singing, dancing, and practicing!! We read every word we see, but now we are ready to read our own individual books and stories that are written on our levels!

I have 4 adorable, eager to learn Autistic children!

My school is the first community school in Oklahoma City. It looks large but actually it is small. Many of the students here come from homes that have very limited incomes and/or opportunities. We are growing as not just a community but as a family!

My Project

We learn the Dolch sight words as well as many other frequently used words every single day. But it is difficult to really help my students value the joy and importance of reading until they can read actual stories themselves. Having books that they can read at both an independent and instructional level will increase their love of reading.

I have already donated much of my own money to programs to make learning enjoyable for my students, but now I need a bit more!

This donation will help to make my students life long readers and therefore life long learners!!
