My Students

My 20 talented 1st-grade students attend a Title I school in a low-income area. Most of my students are all learning English as a second language. They are sweet and loving students who are eager to learn.

"The beautiful thing about learning is no one can take it away from you."

By providing my students with the best learning environment, I will help these students flourish. This year I have been building and creating a safe space for them to explore books.

My Project

Who wants to sit at a desk all day long when you can have flexible seating? Adding more flexible setting in my classroom will allow more students to get comfortable during readers and writers workshop. Students will be able to dive into reading their books where they feel comfortable and relaxed. This option of seating can help students stay focused and build stamina in their reading and writing. This gives students choices to pick the best environment for their learning and helps build a community of different learners in the classroom.
