This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are AMAZING! They are inquisitive, bright-eyed, and always eager to learn!

However, COVID-19 has changed the way we live and educate our children.

This pandemic has caused us to teach from home using a plethora of digital resources while keeping my first graders engaged! Through rethinking, reshaping, and re-evaluating my methods, I have changed the way I deliver my lessons in order to keep my students motivated as I did in the classroom.

I work in a Title I school, in which a large majority of students are English Language Learners with different backgrounds, most of which come from low-income families that receive free/reduced lunch.

During distance learning, my students relied on my assistance on a daily basis to use their devices/technology for completing their assignments. That being said, I have REVAMPED my teaching style to accommodate my students' needs via Google Classroom! I do not own a working personal computer, and found myself borrowing a laptop to deliver my digital lessons via remotely. Quite the conundrum! Looking ahead to 2021, I realize that remote learning will likely continue and I must have a laptop to deliver my lessons.

My Project

This MacBook Pro, external drive and AirPods will facilitate my access online to students, parents, administrators as well as lesson planning at any time, day or night! Amazing! Having my own device is a positive step in the right direction! The MacBook Pro will give me the ability to design interactive lessons more efficiently and use newly created websites and updated programs in lightning speed. The external drive will allow me to save my lessons and activities without occupying space on the MacBook Pro making it to slow down. The AirPods will allow me to record and communicate with students and parents online without external distractions. Using the MacBook Pro will also facilitate interactive resources that make learning fun and exciting for my students, while meeting the students’ needs regarding differentiated instruction.

Innovation and technology continue to be our future.

Please help me ride the wave of technology by donating towards the technology devices I need! The MacBook Pro will be helpful in assisting me plan, research and teach from home in order to better serve my students and meet their needs. By using the latest technology, going live on zoom or Google Classroom with parents (conferences) will be a dream without lags or freezing up causing interference or delays. Please help me create and execute my dazzling distance learning plans/activities with this magnificent MacBook Pro and other devices!
