Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are members of a low income community. They attend the same school their parents and even grandparents attended years ago. They are Hispanic, English language learners.

My students are young, curious, impressionable and eager to learn.

They lack experiences, resources and support that would make learning easier. Although, they face many challenges in their lives they attend school every day and have a positive attitude I love! My students will be successful with the right tools and me by their side to inspire a life long love for learning.

My Project

My students use dry erase boards for a variety of activities in the classroom. We have spelling competitions where the student who spells the word the fastest and shows it to me is the winner! It is so much more entertaining that regular paper and pencil. The children also use them in a small group setting to play math, fluency and spelling games.

Unfortunately my students come from low income households and they have trouble getting hold of dry erase markers.

With your help my students can have the opportunity to learn without the fear of making mistakes. In a more entertaining way that what they are used too.

The magnetic letters and numbers will be a great addition to our small group learning centers and the seat organizers will provide us the space to store all our materials. 🤓
