Help me give my students popsicle sticks, glue sticks, and glue guns, so that they can design and build a truss popsicle stick bridge.

My Project

The students in my classes are wonderful. They are eager to learn and explore new ideas. Some of my students couldn't afford the basic supplies for school. With these additional supplies, the students will be able to learn about engineering design and apply what they have learned to their popsicle stick bridges. The materials that I have requested will be used in my physics classes. Through brainstorming, students will be to learn about the forces and stresses of their bridges. The requirements for making a truss popsicle stick bridge are: the bridge must span a minimum of 24 inches and must endure 30 pounds of weight. The objective of this lesson was to focus on how the bridges are engineered to withstand maximum weight while being durable. In summary, students must work in teams to do some brainstorming. But each student must build their own truss popsicle stick bridge using popsicle sticks, glue sticks, and glue guns.
