My students are creative, and kind they also have unique needs that require outside resources to help them learn and stay engaged. They learn through hands-on experiences and structure.
Having students with unique needs (Special Education)
and being preschoolers gives me the opportunity to teach them and nurture them through activities to meet their individualized goals as well as teach them to play and learn to play with other children in the school environment.
Our school is located in Carlsbad, California which is a. melting pot of diversity and social-economic status. Some families, due to the culture, may not be aware of how their child's' unique needs can impact their future.
Each child in my classroom absolutely loves coming to school, as they call it Mrs. Angela's house. We incorporate a variety of learning strategies, group work, and play activities as these children need to learn to play and interact with peers. We work on these skills to ensure each student's needs are met and are successful. They are truly an incredible group, and I am so lucky and thankful to have a new group of learners that are amazingly special.
My Project
Currently my students do not have an outdoor play area they need to learn to use whole body skills such as climbing, sliding, walking, balancing, using steps and throwing and catching. Gross motor play helps their body and minds to work together to help the students to meet age appropriate mile miles stones. Help to you learn slabs play through Gross Motor activities! Gross motor play helps us to become better students and grow and develop skills to succeed in life! This will be a great opportunity for us all!
