Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

We have chosen to give the students "dollar" incentives for doing well. They can then turn in this "money" at the school store for their rewards such as the requested snacks, toys, pencil grips, play dough, bookmarks, pens, bracelets, and other items. This is a school wide incentive for Pre-K-5th grade! We could really use our community's assistance to help this dream come true.

The students love to be able to go on their own shopping trip!

We did this once around the holidays, yet would love to be able to hold the school store monthly, or bi-monthly to help the students stay motivated for the last push of the school year. This will be a special event the students can look forward to, that will help ward of some of their nerves with testing coming up! As you see many of the objects chosen are to help with stressors and anxieties, which are much needed in and out of the classroom.

Since our population is low income, many of our students do not get the chance to go shopping with their own money while at home and this is a wonderful way to teach them not only about positive behavior reinforcement but money management as well.
