Leaping into Technology and Reading with Leap Frog Readers!
My students need exposure to technology and reading. I am asking for these Leap Reader pens and supporting books to help them become independent readers while encouraging interest and curiosity about technology.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Give this project a boost!
A chain reaction of support starts with one share.
I have a wonderful group of struggling readers who live in a high needs district. Our school district provides FREE breakfast AND lunch to ALL students, which speaks to the high needs of our students. Funding is limited and therefore as a teacher, I find myself spending a good portion of my own money to support my classroom needs. Therefore, for this project in particular, I am reaching out to YOU for help.
This year, I hope to help my struggling readers by offering additional reading support through Leap Pads.
Leap pads offer an opportunity for students to work independently with assistance from the Leap Frog pen as they navigate through unfamiliar text. It is my hope that with your support, I can pilot a Leap Frog program in the first grade.
My Project
My students are bright, cheerful and excited to learn, however, due to a variety of circumstances, they're not always able to gain access to basic needs.
As a result, the playing field for my students is less than equal.
It is my hope, that using LEAP Readers in the classroom will encourage reading, use of technology (which is something affluent surrounding districts readily have access to) and help my students to reach or exceed end of year benchmark goals. IF students can read and use technology, we even the playing field and make their future hopes and dreams easier to achieve.
I plan to use the materials during independent work time. While I pull small groups of 4-6 students for guided reading instruction, my plan is to have students who need extra help use the Leap Frog pens and Readers to practice reading skills they have yet to master. Then as I pull more students to my guided reading table, different groups of students will rotate into the Leap Frog Pen station. Therefore, all students will have access to and benefit from the Leap Frog pen and reading station.
