Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

English is a second language for most of them in my classroom. Many come from homes where there are no books, or they have not been read to at all. My students love to have me read to them every day. Seems they cannot get enough of me reading them stories and they beg for me to read more. The time constraints don't allow me to read as many books per day to them as I would like. When I shared a TAG Reader with them, they were jumping with joy! Here are a few comments from my students! "Now I can read along with the story!" "The book reads to me just like you teacher!" The book comes alive, and I am on a reading adventure!" "I wish we had more so we did not have to share!" "Can we take them home to share with our family?"

During reading block, I would like to give my students the golden opportunity to differentiate their instruction in reading to meet the needs of every child.

Using the TAG readers students will be able to choose books above their reading levels which will help them with phonemic awareness, sight words, science words, spelling, phonics, comprehension, vocabulary, and fluency.

If you fund this project every single child in my classroom will feel successful in reading.

My high readers will enjoy enrichment while the lower performing students will enjoy a sense of freedom in reading as they master new reading skills with technology! Please help us keep the excitement of reading alive by adopting our class!
