Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My class consists of 12 special education students, 3 students being ESL. They all come from low socio-economic backgrounds. Each student comes from a family of limited resources. They require multi sensory approaches to instruction each day in the classroom.

Our school is a Title 1 school and the neighborhood is a very diverse community with many low income families who have limited support.

Due to the limited resources in our school, we often do not have access to instructional tools to enhance presentation of the curriculum in order to meet the students special needs.

My Project

The Chromebooks I'm requesting will help me differentiate my instruction in the classroom. My students will be able to work in these small groups to complete projects and work as a team to complete tasks.

My students benefit from hands on projects, especially with the use of technology.

They enjoy being able to look up their own information and add a personal touch to their work. They love to learn new things and be a part of the learning process.

Having this technology in my classroom will enable my students to take ownership of their work and be proud of their accomplishments. They love to be independent thinkers and learners. The use of technology will allow them to further their knowledge and help them better express their learning in ways they never could before.
