My Project

Please help the Leader in Me lighthouse team receive the tools they need for a successful school year! Every year, this team chooses a campaign to focus on, with previous themes such as kindness and respect. Students chose Social Awareness as their campaign for the 2024-2025 school year. They plan to teach classroom lessons to their peers, which will include themes such as empathy, social skills, decision making, compassion and friendship.

This team of approximately 30 students is in need of resources and professional equipment to conduct classroom lessons & create a newsroom to film content.

The lighthouse team produces public service announcements to share information on important topics with the school. We plan for these episodes to occur in a more professional manner. The items we are requesting will be used in classrooms and for news segments that will shared with all members of our school community and beyond. These materials will help members of our community understand the concept of empathy and feelings through these direct lessons and digital content. We would also like to highlight positive stories, celebrate students and staff members that embody these positive traits, promote school pride and more!

Our primary goal for this project is to create teachable moments and ultimately participate in our own compassion project. With existing relationships with organizations such as Project Sunshine and Foster Love, we will continue our community work. These hands-on learning experiences will propel our work further than ever before. We will measure the success of student’s understanding of compassion through the Leader in Me annual survey.

What makes our students special is their resilience and eagerness to learn. By supporting this project, you are helping to nurture their potential and providing them with the resources they need to shine brightly in their leadership efforts.
