My Students

My students this year are Freshmen, who are extremely motivated. They love to use language in the classroom and have fun speaking French even outside of the classroom. We enjoy using Flipgrid and other online platforms for speaking practice.

These highly motivated students inspire me to give it all my all everyday.

Our class is very diverse and made up of students from the Caribbean, Europe, Canada and the United States. Being from the Caribbean myself, I encourage them to make the class a community where we respect and appreciate our differences. French is something new and different for them all and together we strive for excellence. We celebrate all our accomplishments everyday.

They love French and enjoy the class. I would like help this year in securing a new laminating machine to help us create colorful flashcards for their use in class. This will facilitate their speaking in Target Language. It would make them so happy and when they are happy and motivated, it makes the class ambiance so much more wonderful!

My Project

It has been proven that colorful and bright visual supports are an effective tool in reinforcing new words and vocabulary taught in class. As such, this laminating machine will help me create flashcards.

Our Mur de Mots or Word Wall will be a huge support to the students and give them the confidence to speak in Target Language, knowing they have supports they need.

This is a necessary tool for the French classroom, and will be extremely useful to the students. Indeed, they have been asking for this resource and it is time to make the change. Vive le français!
