This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Remember a time when paper and pencil was the only way to learn? Today we use technology more than anything else to help us engage our students. While I don't lean on technology alone, education is moving away from paper and more towards technology.

My students are a group of eager learners.

When we learn the difference in statements and questions, my students realize they have lots of question. I am so amazed at how they catch on so fast with technology. We have learning programs given to us but with only one computer in our classroom it's hard to allow all students to receive equal time. I hope to get more technology in my classroom, but this is a start. My school is wonderful with diverse learners and teachers willing to think outside of the box to teach our English Language Learners. Teachers work together for our students. We are more than a school, we are a family and we do all we can to take care of our students and their families.

My Project

Imagine a world of technology but you don't even know how to turn it on. My students are being introduced to school and all that it has to offer. My students will not only learn how to navigate a mouse and follow directions, they will also engage in programs that will help them with literacy and math. They will also be able to listen to stories. Technology in the classroom at such a young age is very important when laying the foundation for our future leaders.

Most of my students families do not own a computer. Some don't even own a smart phone. As these students enter kindergarten, they will know what a computer is and how to use because in prekindergarten they got this valuable experience.
