My Students

Our students dedicate many hours, both after school and during lunch, in order to pursue their interest in the law. They work closely with local law firms and lawyers representing the Department of Education in order to craft their own case briefs and participate in mock trial events throughout the city. They've done all this with limited resources.

The students in our law program have never allowed the economic conditions surrounding them to get in the way of their dreams or ambitions.

The school is not the most economically advantaged, nor is it in the nicest area of Brooklyn. However, the students have never complained that they lack the resources of other schools. They have overcome very obstacle they've faced throughout the law program in stride, and often made it to the final rounds of competitions.

The resources asked for would go a long way in helping to make sure that these students are capable of achieving their dreams and becoming the lawyers of the future.

My Project

UAA was founded with the mission of providing a can-do attitude to our students while fostering a community-action based curriculum. To this end, students participate in Law Club.

Law Club/Moot Court gives students the opportunity to study the law, practice the roles of lawyers in mock trials, and study community needs.

The laptops we are requesting will be used during Law Club meetings for students to prepare for their court competitions and to study case law. They will be able to more effectively research their arguments and case precedents that can be used to win the cases they compete in.
