My students need some Aoshike and Sunnytech solar panels, Eudax DC Motors, and OWI STEM kits and various tools and materials to better be able to compare electrical energy to solar energy.

My Students
My future STEM leaders are working hard to become Living Legends and not Hidden Figures. Inspired by the movie Hidden Figures, our school and students have taken a pledge to work on STEM development, and they are doing this with the utmost energy. Our students live in a high-poverty area in the heart of Cincinnati, but they are not letting that stop their efforts to develop their STEM skills. You can see them stand prouder when they don their lab coats for the Science and STEM classes! Most of my students come from high-poverty homes and oftentimes families that are struggling to just survive. DonorsChoose.org will be giving these students a chance to rise above the environment that surrounds them!
My Project
Our 4th and 5th grade standards have connections to solar energy and the importance of renewable resources. Our 5th and 6th grade math standards also require our students to know how to compute speeds. One area we have not explored in our STEM projects is the power of solar energy.
Aoshike and Sunnytech solar panels, Eudax DC Motors, and OWI STEM kits products are just a few of the products that we can use to leverage our learning in regards to solar energy and other renewable resources!
By combining the building of solar and electrical powered products and then using those products to measure their speeds, our 5th and 6th graders can learn valuable lessons in alternative power sources and in math measurement methodologies. These much needed resources will allow us to build various items that can be powered by electrical and solar energy. We can also measure the speeds at which these products turn and or travel, which is yet another major standard for both our 5th and 6th graders.
Please help our students engage through hands-on STEM learning, and help them expand their understanding of electrical and solar energy, which will also help them become better stewards of our planet's resources!
