To foster creativity and innovation, we are undertaking a large project where students will design and build a functional catapult. This hands-on project will engage students in engineering, physics, and teamwork. Once the catapult is built, we will 3D print a model replica of the design.
With the addition of Makey Makey circuit boards, students will then code interactive elements that explain the different parts and uses of the catapult.
This integration of physical construction, 3D modeling, and coding will provide a comprehensive STEM learning experience.
The Makey Makey circuit boards will make a significant difference in our project by:
Enhancing Understanding of Engineering Principles: Building the catapult will teach students about levers, tension, and projectile motion.
Developing Coding Skills: Students will use Makey Makey to program interactive features, explaining the catapult's components and functionality.
Fostering Collaboration and Communication: Working in teams, students will enhance their collaboration and communication skills.
More than a third of students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
