My Project

My Spanish 3 students are learning about Latin and Spanish artists. After an overview of many different artists from Latin America and Spain, students choose one artist to research more deeply. They will write an essay on the artist's life, career, and art.

To enrich their learning experience, students will use the paints, trays, and disposable aprons and paint an art piece in the style of their chosen artist!

The students' mock pieces will create an in-class art exhibit where students can learn from and support each other.

Funding this project would foster joy, community, and culture in Spanish class! After years of limited positive experiences in the classroom due to COVID-19, I know my students would love to have this opportunity.

Mrs. McGonigle Technical Freire Charter School Grades 9-12
