My Project

By far the most popular books in my classroom are my Diary of a Wimpy Kid books. Since more boys than girls are identified for reading intervention, they have become the most important series in my room. (My favorite series for the girls in my class has been the Baby-Sitters Club.) In the last couple of years, there have been some new titles published in the Wimpy Kid series and it's important that we have access to the latest titles in the series to continue student engagement with their favorite books.

Having multiple copies of the latest books allows students to be able to read the same title in class and then after a few weeks I will let students start to borrow them from class to take home.

It's also important to refresh the earlier books in the series as well so that students who are new to reading them can catch up to their peers.
