This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

"Play gives children a chance to practice what they are learning" - Mr. Rogers. Knowing the importance of play for development as well as current and future learning, I have made an exhaustive list of helpful items like pencils, sand molds and a boombox to spark curiosity and imagination for my students. During uninterrupted play time, I have seen my students do extremely well with creating the most of their opportunities, but after teaching in several positions and a couple schools, I recognize the need for more. We may have the 2nd smallest room in our entire district, but these items will open up a whole new world for them. These items will benefit the students directly and not sit on a teacher shelf waiting for small groups or assessment.
